How should you clean a solid oak dining table?

For routine cleaning, remove crumbs with a soft dry cloth, then wipe the surface with a clean microfibre cloth that is only slightly damp. Follow the grain rather than rubbing in circles and dry the top immediately with a second cloth.

  • Use lukewarm water and a small amount of mild, pH-neutral soap when needed.
  • Wring the cloth thoroughly so that water cannot collect on the surface.
  • Dry the table immediately, especially around edges, joints and natural features.
  • Use placemats or coasters beneath drinks, vases and hot serving dishes.
